Picchiotti unveils 61m superyacht concept with “old money” aesthetic

Picchiotti, a brand of The Italian Sea Group, has unveiled a 61-metre concept inspired by the history of the yard, which was established in 1575.

“The aristocracy, escorted by the highest members of the upper middle class to spend their holidays on the French Riviera, sailed aboard splendid wooden yachts,” explained a Picchiotti spokesperson. The concept, known as Vintage, has been created to “mark these nostalgic memories” and preserve “an aspirational, vintage and exciting nautical style”.

Picchiotti is also known for its Gentleman yacht line, which was announced following the yard’s acquisition by The Italian Sea Group in 2022. Vintage evidently borrows design cues from these models, including wooden detailing, rounded overhangs and a bi-colour exterior. The yacht would also incorporate modern technology such as automated systems and artificial intelligence.

Design highlights include a Jacuzzi on the main deck aft, flanked with sunloungers, and al fresco dining on the sundeck. Renderings also reveal that the foredeck is dedicated to a wide lounge space with fixed sofa seating, coffee tables and a firepit. Accommodation is for 12 guests and 15 crew.

The yacht would be built in steel and aluminium, with key specs including an 11.2-metre beam and a maximum speed of 15.5 knots. Any further details have been kept tightly under wraps.

This comes at a busy time for The Italian Sea Group, with 19 yachts on order or actively under construction – the largest of which is the 100-metre hybrid superyacht known as Project Titanium

BOAT International’s 2025 Global Order Book also confirmed the yard to be the biggest full-custom builder in Italy.
